Disney Collector Villain Dolls – Maleficent

popcultureI was ecstatic to learn that Disney would be releasing a set of collector Villains dolls. The Villains are much better than the Princesses; the Villains have more attitudes and are more unique.

Who would choose Cinderella over Cruella De Ville? I know I sure wouldn’t.

The Original Queen of evil, Maleficent was the first doll to be released in the collection.

And…this lucky little lady got one!

The doll is utterly gorgeous. When I first learned of them, I thought they would be designer Barbie-style dolls. Definitely not the case.  The doll is sold in a special keepsake display case with intricate details on the base, including a silver plate with  a name plate Maleficent.

Maleficent in 1959’s Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty’s most famed dark fairy is always dressed to kill with her cloak and staff. I love the cute detail on the top of the box, “ the original Goth”.

She is designed and carefully crafted to capture the essence of evil at its best dressed. She has her signature horn-like hairstyle, pallid green skin tone and killer stare. She has dramatic makeup and long rooted lashes. She is clad in a leatherette bustier with tulle ruffle trim and matching gloves. Her jagged velvet cloak is lined with purple satin and a gem closure at the front. Her skirt is a beautiful fit and flair velvet skirt with coloured gores.

Of course, she is rocking her crystal ball staff with perfect claw details.

1 of 13,000. I am super stoked.
