Amatory Murder

There is nothing in this world more exciting than finding a great new musical artist. Music is a universal saving grace. It has always served as a balm through painful times, and has had the capacity and power to demonstrate and beautify the joy of life and provide meaning.

Music is like a best friend. It will always be there for you no matter what; always there with that unconditional feeling of an eternal soul-deep bond. There’s music to celebrate your milestones and triumphs; music when you feel down and blue. Music breaks down walls. Music puts into words the thoughts that you can never say. Music always helps, no matter what you’re going through. The bars of a song have the power to take you away from the bars trapping you in life and help you find warmth to replace the emptiness inside. With music in your life, you are never alone.

So, when you find a new artist that really and truly speaks to you—it is worth celebrating.

I started 2013 off with a musical bang,  Ben Tourkantonis, whom I had met at an Aesthetic Perfection show while he was selling merch, suggested I follow his new band on Facebook. I am so glad I followed his suggestion.75791_142353805815656_1658995_n

Thank the musical God’s for the sounds of Amatory Murder. This band is one of the most talented musical acts of my generation. My musical tastes are for the most part, stuck on artists of the past like The Cure. As soon as I heard the first few chords  “Eleanor” my brain instantly compared their sound to that of The Cure. I have listened to every song they have released, (many, many times I might add) and I am equally impressed with every single track. They are lyrically inspiring, and have a cutting edge sound. It is not the generic mass produced crap music that seems to be what mainstream music is today.  Have a listen, and no, your ears don’t have to thank me  🙂

I am SO excited to see what the future holds for their genius sound.
