Shadow of the Mark ARC Review

Shadow of the Mark (Carrier #2) by Leigh Fallon

Leigh Fallon’s Shadow of the Mark, the sequel to Carrier of the Mark, is a captivating love story set against the lush backdrop of Ireland. Megan knew she was destined to be with Adam from the first moment she saw him and now they are determined to be together. But Megan and Adam are Marked Ones, and a romance between two Marked Ones is strictly forbidden…and could cause worldwide devastation.12543750

The cover of this book is just gorgeous. I like how it is so similar to the first entry, it is a consistent beauty that adds colour to any book shelf. It is very bold, and defines Fallon’s Carrier series.

I was lucky to receive an ARC copy of Shadow of the Mark. A book I have been eagerly awaiting to devour since I read the last page of the first entry, Carrier of the Mark.

Fallon is an expert, a master in her craft. One of my favourite writers of this generation. She has such a way with crafting stories, and creating stories that keep readers compelled from start to finish.  In SOFTM she brings readers to majestic Ireland, and paints a perfect portrait of the life, landscape and people of the Emerald Isle. That is one of my favourite things about reading, the aspect of being uprooted from your life and taken away to a whole new world.  The world Fallon has created is impeccable. The characters are well developed, and you can work up enough emotion through the storyline to truly love, or hate a character with a passion.

Each of the characters undergo a significant arc of change in this action packed book. It is the perfect mix of romance, friendship, betrayal, thrills, mystery—what other description is necessary? This book has everything.

Emotions run high as the story develops and truths are revealed. I loved every word of this book. I cannot wait for the next entry in this series.

Now, to read it again and get lost in the magical world all over again. I cannot wait to see what the mind of Leigh Fallon comes up with next!
