Songs That Inspire Strength–Marie’s Picks!

These songs inspire me, help me find inner strength and speak to me!

1.
Avenged Sevenfold – Until The End.images Basically the line in the song that says
“to reminisce won’t bring you back
Just look ahead and hold on tight”
Basically, to reminisce over the past won’t bring a person back, you have to look ahead to the future and hold on tight.
This could be about a death of a loved one or a break up.
It’s a reminder that life moves on, the world keeps spinning, stop torturing yourself looking back, you have to look forward and hold on tight because it’s a bumpy road.

2.
David Guetta – Titanium ft. Siaimages-1 This is a dance song and it may surprise people that it’s one of my favourite songs! First few times I heard it I thought nothing of it, then I listened closer to the lyrics and thought “wow” they’re so inspiring and strengthening!!

“I’m bulletproof, nothing to lose fire away, fire away ricochet, you take your aim fire away, fire away you shoot me down, but I won’t fall I am titanium you shoot me down, but I won’t fall I am titanium”

This song speaks to me, it reminds me that I am strong, nothing and no one can hurt me, I’m bulletproof! Aim all they want but I’m too strong for anyone to hurt me. I listen to this a lot, the lyrics are fantastic!

3.
FreeBird – Lynyrd SkynrdLynyrd-Skynyrd-Free-Bird This is an oldie and a classic! It’s one of my favourite songs, for a few reasons.
“Fly High Freebird” It’s a reminder that I’m young and I’m free, many women my age in the 50’s/60’s were forced to marry young and have kids young. That life is my idea of hell.. I see them as caged birds and I’m free, free to fly high and make something of myself, I want to get these lyrics tattooed on me as a reminder to fly high and succeed in life as I’m not tied down or caged, I want to soar in the sky!

4.
Wicked Game – CHRIS ISAAKwicked-game-4ef0c4f5a5b3e

I’ve only really started listening to this song and I’ve fallen head over heels in love with it, I guess it speaks to me.
It’s about how love can be a wicked game that plays with your heart and how heartbreak can stop you from ever want to falling in love again.

“The world was on fire and no one could save me but you.
It’s strange what desire will make foolish people do.
I never dreamed that I’d meet somebody like you.
And I never dreamed that I’d lose somebody like you.
No, I don’t want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart) with you.
What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way.
What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you.”

5.
Life is Beautiful – Sixx A:MSixxAM2

This song is a reminder that life is a beautiful gift. It was written by Nikki Sixx who died twice, he had a drug habit for most of his life and kicked it 10 years ago or so, and now realises how beautiful and amazing life is.
No matter how rubbish your day is going, this song is a reminder, you’re alive and life is a beautiful thing.
I love the lyrics “It took a funeral to make me feel alive”,
this lyric spoke to me, I’ve had a few young friends who have passed before me and I’m appreciative of the fact I’m still here, I’m the lucky one… for just being alive!
Everyone should rememeber… life is beautiful! It’s a constant reminder of positivity!
