Poetry: Quiet Beauty

image2-1Quiet Beauty

Our mutually suppressed truth

We had always known

Whether we entertained it or not

We were on perpendicular paths

We were always meant to go different ways

Never parallel with one another

Never steady

Never meant to be

Our love was seen in quiet beauty

That just always hurt

It served no further purpose
