Poetry: Always With You

image2-1Always With You

I’m always with you.

I’m with you every time you enter the cemetery gates.

You can’t see me.

You have no idea I’m here.

I still need to be with you.

To try and protect you.

I follow behind to stay undetected.

You stop at my site.

I watch as the tears fall from your beautiful bright eyes.

I want to reach out and soothe you.

You look at the glass with my name intricately etched.

I can’t hear what you whisper.

I guess I am not suppose to.

My time is spent I shouldn’t be here.

I can’t watch too long.

It makes me too sad for how confused you are.

Sad that you think I am gone when in truth I have never left.
