Poetry: Idols

All of my idols

My heros

Have fallen

Person by person

Knocked off their pedestals

A hierarchy

That was never rightfully deserved

Their glamour

Their insight

Their bravery

Everything I believd

Them to be

Was all an illusion

In my mind I had built them up

In reality I watched them fall
