Poetry: Ode to Friendship

image2

Ode to Friendship

To the friends that aren’t in my life

Thank you for the wisdom

Strength

Change

All that you instilled in me

Life led us on roads astray

Our friendship met its end

For reasons we both know

Some things just aren’t meant to be

You may not know it.

Time to time you cross my mind.

There is no bitterness or resentment.

Only well wishes.

You were once a friend

You will always mean something to me

Some friends are forever

Some are meant to only exist in our hearts forever

Some are meant to teach us lessons.

Then drift away.

The near.

The far.

I thank you.

All of you have shaped me.

Inspired me to find my destiny.

To hold on to my dreams.

Never to let go.
