Poetry: Exploding Stars In The Sky

image2Exploding Stars In The Sky

I always thought.

Loss made you numb.

Empty.

This wasn’t supposed to be my life.

Life was supposed to be waiting for us.

Not something already over.

I feel like I’ve been stuck under a glass.

Everything inside me.

Everything magnified.

Intensified.

Exploding.

Rage.

Grief.

Terror.

My emotions.

Resonated louder.

While they scraped together.

Corroding my bones.

Crushing my heart.

Taking the air from my lungs.

I wanted to blow a hole into the sky.

Connect this world with the skies above.

Explode a star.

Let the burning embers scorch me.

Let them scald the earth.

Destroy everything they touched.

Set the world on fire.

Because I was lost without my light.

I no longer cared for this world.

You weren’t a part of it.
