Poetry: Young As We Were

image2-1Young As We Were

Young as we were.

Old as I may now be.

I still miss you sometimes.

We thought being young.

Was a luxury.

I was left behind.

To learn the truth.

The true luxury.

Lies in growing old.

Experiencing life in all the ways.

We never did.

Young as we were.

As old as I grow to be.

I will always miss you.

A part of me will always live in the past.

With you at my side.
