Poem: A New Day

poetryA New Day

Quietly.

Without ever realizing it at first.

One day you will discover.

Your life has meaning again.

It is rich.

Not like before.

Things will be different.

A new version of okay.

Never completely full.

Nothing fills the gap of loss.

The part around the emptiness will grow.

Will be filled.

You will love.

Be loved.

You will laugh.

When this day comes.

It won’t hurt to breathe.

I promise.

That day will be better than today.

Of that I am certain.

Hold on until that day comes.
