Being a Canadian gal, I love to support Canadian brands and businesses. Rocky Mountain Soap Company is the Canadian Holy Grail of skin care!
Rocky Mountain Soap Company (yes, made in the Canadian Rockies – not just a clever name) has a pretty awesome line of soaps appropriate for the season. RMSC Soap packs all the good things in nature in their products – like coconut and olive oils, mashed fruits or vegetables, herbs, and essential oils. Made only in small batches at a workshop in Canmore, it takes an entire day to make a single batch of soap. It takes a whopping eight-weeks for soaps to cure.
Two soaps have captured my attention this season.
Lets discuss the first.
Nothing is mores symbolic of the harvest than the pumpkin. So, why not incorporate this autumnal staple in your cleaning regime?
What’s not to love about the pumpkin?
It is packed with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) which increase cell turnover and help brighten the skin (this is why it works so well for eczema treatment.) Pumpkin is rich in Vitamin A and Vitamin C, both help soften and soothe the skin. Working together these antioxidants boost collagen production to prevent the signs of aging.
The molecular structure of a pumpkin is quite small, therefore it can penetrate deeper into the skin when used topically. This is amazing for treating a dull complexion, aging skin and uneven pigmentation.
YAY PUMPKINS!
Zombie Repellant, yes that is the actual name!
A rich onyx paired with vibrant red, the look of this soap just screams HALLOWEEN.
This Zombie Repellent is formulated with sweet fennel and star anise to ward off cold bodied biters and protect your braaaaiiiinnnns. The necrotic black bar with red swirl and a licorishey scent stimulates the circulatory system to provide life to dull, lifeless skin.
Love the smell of black licorice? This bar is for you!
Anethol is the major component of anise oil. The oil derives its aroma from this compound. The medicinal benefits of anise oil comprise its antispasmodic, antiseptic, sedative, digestive and stimulant properties.
Star Anise makes your skin soft, smooth and glowy. It has tons of detoxifying properties that help relieve and heal acne and damaged skin. This soap can be your first line of defence against pesky breakouts – or you can use it on your body and smell like a lush piece of licorice.
RMSC weren’t lying about the ‘repellant’ well, sorta :p
It may not repel zombies, but it definitely repels bugs. Anise oil is an insecticide that helps keep insects away. Anise is often used in the production of fumigants, sprays and vaporizers.
RMSC has a permanent love affair with pumpkin, you can always find this in stock. Zombie Repellant is only around for October – so, act fast!
