I Love Halloween! It is undoubtably my favorite Holiday and it also kicks off the holiday season. On this day, we celebrate darkness,things that scare us, an in many ways, life in general. As a person who more or less celebrates Halloween a little bit each day all year-long ( through my art most definitely as I would define a lot of it as ” Gothic Lowbrow”) I rejoice in the fact that one day a year everyone I know celebrates the macabre, the unknown, the scary and romantic the same way.

Halloween is also the one day a year that our culture openly invites people of all ages to adopt an alternate personality for a day, to go out and have fun dressed as something they otherwise would be snubbed for. it allows us to deal with issues that we normally shy away from such as death, the afterlife, and even monsters what’s lurking in the corner of your eye.

It is also an opportunity to have a lot of fun! Halloween is a holiday that for me also carries a lot of rituals from listening to seasonal music, to baking Halloween cookies and watching horror movies.

For me it is the rituals of the Halloween season that I love the most!
