Welcome, December!

The short days filled with darkness are here and I couldn’t be happier! The dead months are the time of year I find myself thriving, creatively and emotionally. I am happiest when the only light outside is the pearlescent glow of the moon and stars. On very special, lucky nights, the world is lit up by the gorgeous Aurora.

I am thankful for Winter. For the contrast between light and dark, there is no other time in the year when I appreciate the lights of the sky more.

The bright polar nights remind me just how small my problems are in comparison with how vast and majestic the universe is. December is a time of magic. Kindness. Hope. The childhood feeling of magic is rekindled.

December, how I adore you.
